## How does BlinkWrite read what I'm writing?

BlinkWrite reads the text around your cursor to understand context: the active
input and its surrounding context, such as a conversation thread, email chain,
or document. It only reads the text it needs to make a suggestion; it isn't
monitoring your screen or tracking your activity. See

## Is my data sent to the cloud?

The text context is processed by our **customized, self-hosted AI models** on our own
infrastructure. Your data never passes through third-party AI APIs. Before
anything leaves your machine, an on-device model masks personal information like
emails, phone numbers, and credentials. See

## Is my writing stored or used to train your models?

No. Your text is never saved, logged, or retained. Each suggestion is generated
in the moment and discarded. Your writing is never used to train or fine-tune
any model.

## Does BlinkWrite work in every app?

**Rephrasing works everywhere you can type** — any macOS text field, in any app,
plus every major browser (Chrome, Safari, Brave, Firefox). **Proactive
drafts, completions, and corrections** read the surrounding conversation or
document, so they're available in apps BlinkWrite understands: Slack, Gmail,
Discord, WhatsApp, Notion, and more. See [Supported apps](/docs/supported-apps).

## How is this different from standard autocomplete?

Standard suggestions predict the next few words from what you've typed.
BlinkWrite reads the entire conversation context (who messaged you, what they
said, and the tone of the thread) and drafts contextually appropriate replies,
completions, corrections, and rephrasings.

## How is BlinkWrite different from Grammarly?

Grammarly + Superhuman Go is a broad, cross-platform editing and AI suite.
BlinkWrite is a focused Mac writing assistant that drafts replies before you
type, completes sentences inline, and accepts every suggestion with **Tab**.

## Will AI-generated suggestions sound like me?

Yes. BlinkWrite reviews your past emails to learn your tone, vocabulary, and
style. Drafts reflect how you actually write. You review every one before it
goes out and you're always in control of what gets sent.

## Does BlinkWrite send replies automatically?

No. BlinkWrite will never send a reply on your behalf. Every draft sits in the
input for you to review, edit, and send when you're ready.

## Can I control when BlinkWrite is active?

Yes. You can pause and resume BlinkWrite at any time from **BlinkWrite's eye
icon** in the menu bar, the strip at the **very top of your screen**, on the

for a diagram. Suggestions only ever appear in a floating popup. They never
change your writing until you press **Tab** to accept. See

## What languages does it support?

36 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean,
Chinese, Arabic, and many more. BlinkWrite automatically detects the language
you are writing in and suggests in the same language by default. Custom
rephrasing can translate your paragraph into a language you specify. See the full list in
[Models & languages](/docs/models-and-languages).

## How does rephrasing work?

Double-tap **Tab** to improve the current paragraph. Below the result, click
**Shorten**, **Improve**, **Formal**, **Friendly**, or **Custom**.
The same modes are available through **Shift + 1** to **Shift + 5**, in that order.
Each mode uses your original paragraph and the same available context.

**Custom** opens an instruction field below the modes. Type your instructions in that field.
Press **Enter** to request the rewrite. The cursor stays in
the field so you can edit the instructions and submit them again.
Press **Tab** to apply a changed result, or **Esc** to close the dialog.

If the preview matches your current text, it uses the inactive text color and
shows a checkmark instead of Tab. There is no change to apply.

## Is BlinkWrite free?

BlinkWrite offers a free trial to get started. After that it's a paid Pro

## Which devices does BlinkWrite work on?

BlinkWrite runs on Apple silicon Macs (M1 or later), on macOS 26 or later. A
Windows version is in the making.
